Dental clinics in Singapore span family dentistry, orthodontics (braces and Invisalign) and implant surgery. For complex treatment, look for accredited providers, modern 3D imaging and transparent pricing. Here are dental clinics we rate.
How we chose
This is an editorial shortlist, not paid placement. We prioritise providers accredited by Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) and listed on the Specialist Register where applicable, with relevant experience, genuine patient feedback and transparency about who treats you. We don’t publish a clinic’s rating or price unless we can verify it from a reliable source.

When to see a dentist and what they treat
General dentists handle routine check-ups, scaling and polishing, fillings, extractions and crowns, and many also offer orthodontics such as braces and Invisalign. More complex needs, including surgical removal of impacted wisdom teeth, dental implants, gum surgery or jaw conditions, are often managed by dental specialists. If you need significant treatment, it is reasonable to ask whether a general dentist or a registered dental specialist is most appropriate for your case.
What to look for when choosing a dental clinic
All dentists in Singapore must be registered with the Singapore Dental Council (SDC), and specialists appear on the SDC’s specialist register. For complex work such as implants or orthodontics, look for relevant accreditation and experience, modern diagnostic imaging (such as CBCT 3D scans where appropriate), and an in-house or established laboratory for restorations. Just as important is transparent, itemised pricing and a clear explanation of the treatment plan, alternatives and risks before you commit.
What to look for
- SDC registration, and specialist-register status for complex treatment.
- A written, itemised quote and a clear treatment plan.
- Explanation of alternatives, expected number of visits and aftercare.
Costs and financing
Dental financing in Singapore depends on the procedure. MediSave can be used for certain surgical dental procedures, such as surgical removal of impacted wisdom teeth and dental implant surgery, subject to withdrawal limits and the clinic being MediSave-approved. Routine and cosmetic work, including scaling and polishing, ordinary fillings, teeth whitening and most orthodontics, is generally not MediSave-claimable. The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) provides subsidies for basic dental treatments such as examinations, fillings, extractions and dentures at participating clinics for eligible cardholders. Always confirm with the clinic which specific items are claimable before treatment, as cosmetic and elective work is typically paid in full out of pocket.
Questions to ask at your first visit
- Is this treatment best done by a general dentist or a specialist?
- What is the full itemised cost, and which parts are MediSave- or CHAS-claimable?
- What are the alternatives, and what happens if I delay treatment?
Common questions
Can I use MediSave at the dentist?
Only for approved surgical procedures, such as surgical wisdom-tooth removal and implants, at MediSave-approved clinics. Routine and cosmetic dentistry is not claimable.
Does CHAS cover braces or whitening?
No. CHAS subsidies apply to basic treatments such as fillings and extractions. Orthodontics and cosmetic procedures are not covered.
Do I need a referral to see an orthodontist?
No referral is required to book privately, though a general dentist may suggest one for complex cases.
